“Mumbai 400008 – A story of betrayal, pain, and desperation” is an insightful documentary that highlights the struggle for survival of commercial sex workers during Pandemic Covid-19. It highlights the predicament of destitution faced by the commercial sex workers in Asia’s oldest and largest district – Kamathipura. The documentary film depicts how 7000 plus sex workers from Kamathipura, Falkland Road, Faras Road went penniless in lockdown. As the trade of prostitution totally depended on physical intimacy and touch, was ensured to be under the strictest of strict locked down so as the contagious coronavirus doesn’t spread in the city.
